I have always loved and appreciated photography. Starting from sifting through the old trunk at my parent's house that housed the thousands of photos gathered from over the years. No photo albums, just tons and tons of free floating snapshots. All gathered in chaos.
I have always wanted to learn to be better at taking photos, but felt like expensive camera equipment was way out of my league. Especially for someone who just wanted to take better pictures of her family.
A few years back I asked my husband, Kory, for a "good" DSLR so that I could get better photos, but not understanding ANYTHING about what goes in to technically snapping a decent photo. I had my Nikon D3100 for 5 years before I even attempted to learn how to properly use it. Starting out with a 101 class for shooting on Clickin Moms last March, then an in-person workshop last Fall, and a follow up class last month. I am finally starting to feel like it makes sense. In this process of learning, I have really fallen in love with photography.
I have decided to start a photography project to push myself to become better. My main goal is to shoot (almost) everyday for the Fall months and then hopefully to push myself further into a Project 365. My friend and teacher, Tiffany Kelly, has told me that shooting everyday will make the biggest impact on improving my skills. So, here is my attempt at a Fall Photo "365".
